THE RAYNER FOUNDATION APPLICATION CONDITIONS – SEASON 2025

  • The Rayner Foundation was conceived and remains focused on road racing only.

  • The Rayner Foundation supports British Riders only.

  • Funding support is for the European road racing season only.

  • Individuals must be aware of the complications of living in the European Union (EU)
and must be able to demonstrate that they have made provision for their time there.
This may include options such as a visa application, a work permit, dual nationality or
    residency.

  • Applicants who cannot access a long stay opportunity in the EU, via such mechanisms
mentioned above, must provide evidence that their intended team accepts the need to
travel to and from the EU to satisfy Schengen area rules.

  • Preference will be given to applicants who are either based in the EU or follow an EU
based race programme, agreed with their team. In either case supporting the Rayner
Foundation’s principal objective of pursuing a career in a professional cycling team.

  • The possession of a EU passport is a great benefit, but we do not support any
individual who uses an alternative nationality as their primary status. We only
recognise British Nationality, whereby a rider would potentially represent GB in
International Competition. If this changes then we reserve the right to suspend
    funding.

  • New applicants for funding must be in the under 23 category (for the 2025 season,
this means born in the years 2003 to 2006)

  • Existing funded riders can apply for continued support if older than the U23 category
    subject to progress shown already.

  • Preference will be given to applicants who have already secured team placements
    abroad for the 2025 season.

  • The Rayner Foundation must be the primary source of Charity funding for riders who
receive it and must be acknowledge as such, unless discussed and agreed in writing
previously. There are other organisations that support riders providing similar
programmes, but we feel that it is unfair to align yourselves with more than one
    organisation.

  • In addition, a limited number of places are available, subject to the same principles
laid out above, for students who are available to compete during the summer. This
would be for a maximum period of 3 months.

  • The Rayner Foundation funding is limited. Depending on the quality and quantity of
applications, any successful application must fall below a salary and value in kind
    (accommodation, travel expenses etc) limit.

  • Any offer of support made is subject to the recipient being able to fulfil the principles
    laid out above.

  • If the situation regarding COVID 19 (or similar) disrupts the racing programme we
reserve the right to withdraw support until the situation normalises.

  • If a rider is unable to race abroad with their team due to illness or injury, then funding
may be withheld until the situation resolves.

  • The Rayner Foundation have the right to not pay an individual if they feel the rider
has come up short in their commitment and/or has not provided us with sufficient
    information, as required.

  • The Rayner Foundation reserves the right in their sole discretion, to select riders to
support or not without giving reason.

  • You must agree to these conditions above before accepting support from the Rayner
    Foundation.

  • Applications open 1st October 2024 and close on 31st October 2024
